Measure first.
Then train.
Ninety minutes of structured measurement. You leave with a written Structural Profile — ranges, asymmetries, capacity baselines and a stated set of priorities. No diagnosis, no guesswork, no template.
What brings you here?
Every entry point begins with the same structural assessment — what changes is what we prioritise measuring. Choose one to continue.
Something hurts, restricts, or keeps recurring under load.
Build strengthYou want measurable force output without accumulating damage.
PerformanceSport, competition, or work that demands output under fatigue.
Mobility & joint integrityRanges feel restricted, stiff, or unevenly distributed.
Return to trainingComing back from a layoff, injury, or a long unstructured stretch.
Structural assessment onlyYou want the data. Coaching decision comes later.
We'll prioritise · Performance
Rate-of-force expression, asymmetry under speed, and recovery capacity relative to your current training load.
Next: a few short questions, then your initial readout — a bounded first view of your personal field. Nothing you enter in the readout leaves your browser, and none of it is a diagnosis.
Have imaging, labs, or prior records? Upload them here.
Uploading what you already have gives your coach real context instead of asking you to remember details. It is entirely optional — you can continue without it, and it never holds up your assessment.
Ape Theory does not diagnose, treat, or replace a physician or radiologist. Findings written by a clinician are kept in their words and attributed to the source document. Raw scans are stored securely for manual coach review — no automated image interpretation is performed.
Tell your coach the rest — or skip it entirely.
Type anything you already know about your history, and a short set of training preferences so sessions feel like yours from day one. Nothing here is required, and none of it holds up your assessment.

— What is measured
Six measurement domains.
Movement observation
Primary patterns loaded and unloaded — squat, hinge, press, pull, carry, gait — recorded and annotated.
Range values
Segmental range measured joint by joint, with rotational availability recorded left and right.
Asymmetry mapping
Side-to-side differences in range, control and output, with the magnitude noted rather than estimated.
Capacity baselines
Conservative strength and tolerance baselines on the patterns your training will actually use.
Load-path relationships
How force travels through your structure, and which segments absorb what the others avoid.
Recovery context
Sleep, training history, stress load and symptom history — the variables that determine dose.

Skinfold
mmTracks local subcutaneous change over time at a fixed site and protocol.
Sites: triceps, subscapular, suprailiac, abdominal, thigh, chest, midaxillary, calf.
Circumference
cm · inGirth at a defined anatomical site — a simple, repeatable structural signal.
Sites: neck, chest, waist, hip, upper arm, forearm, thigh, calf.
Body measurement
cm · in · kg · lbHeight, body mass and segment dimensions used as context for other readings.
Sites: height, body mass, wingspan, femur length, torso length, tibia length.
Bioelectrical impedance
ohm · kg · lb · % · LDevice output only. Values the device supplies are stored as reported, never re-derived.
Sites: whole body, upper body, lower body, left side, right side.
Joint / body angle
degAngular position of a joint or segment in a stated plane.
Sites: ankle, knee, hip, lumbar, thoracic, cervical, shoulder, elbow, wrist, scapula.
Range of motion
deg · cm · inAvailable motion at a joint under a stated test position.
Sites: ankle dorsiflexion, hip flexion, hip internal rotation, thoracic rotation, shoulder flexion, shoulder external rotation.
Amplitude
mm · cm · deg · mV · g · arbitraryA signal or movement amplitude. Context is required — amplitude is meaningless without its source.
Performance test / strength anchor
lb · kg · reps · s · m · WRecorded load, distance or time from an actually completed effort.
Every reading is stored with its unit, side, method and protocol. Nothing is inferred, and anything not measured is recorded as missing. Movement video is scored on a 1.00–5.00 scale by stated deductions, not by opinion.
— What you receive
The Structural
Profile.
A coaching document, not a medical report. Observations stay observations, associations stay associations, and anything we could not measure is listed as missing.
- A written Structural Profile: observations, measured ranges, asymmetries and confidence notes.
- Your top three training priorities, ordered by structural consequence.
- A recommended pathway — in-studio, in-home, hybrid or remote — with the reasoning stated.
- A conservative entry point for loading, including what to avoid and why.
- Your baseline on record, so every reassessment compares against real numbers.
